RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the day to day operations of the Accounting Department which includes Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliations, GL Accounts, manages ledgers between parent and sub companies, and as well as oversite of biweekly payroll.
  • Review and post all general ledger accounting entries created by accounting staff
  • Review all reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and payroll
  • Review payroll tax filings to appropriate jurisdictions including state withholdings, W-2s, 1099s, and 941s
  • Coordinate for a timely month-end close
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation for the annual budget
  • Review all monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Monitor cash flow on a daily basis
  • Maintain monthly closing checklist to ensure all necessary entries; reconciliations, and calculations are complete before producing financial reports
  • Produce monthly reports so that directors can track employees’ time by program area
  • Assist in coordination and preparation for the annual audit
  • Prepare customized financial reports as requested

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, and other federal and local tax regulations
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting, finance, reimbursement, budgeting, credit and collections as it relates to healthcare
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and demonstrated ability to transfer these skills to staff
  • 5+ years experience in Quickbooks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to develop and deliver formal presentations to senior leadership, large groups, and staff
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently handling multiple projects and changing priorities with competing demands for resources in a fast-paced environment using superior judgment and problem solving skills while meeting deadlines
